James "Jimmy" Stewart

James Maitland Stewart, popularly known as Jimmy Stewart especially in the United States, was an iconic, Academy Award winning American film and stage actor, best known for his self-effacing screen persona. Over the course of his career, he starred in many films widely considered classics and was nominated for five Oscars, winning one in competition and one life achievement.

This was one of the other star cast in the Philadelphia Story, who gave a stellar performance...... he is not the handsome hero.... but the cute blundering idiot, who charms you with his eyes and innocent looks...... he has a wonderful voice and diction......and he was another one of Hitchcock favorites.... he worked with several popular directors like John Ford and John Capra.... he won the oscar for Frank Capra's Mr.Smith goes to Washington....he served the military and was the original American Matinee Idol.....

His Shop around the Corner was the inspiration for You've got Mail and few other Indian movies....he acted all kinds of roles.... lawyer, baseball player, soldier, war hero, reporter, floor walker, cowboy.... you name it...he played it....

Cary Grant

Archibald Alec Leach, better known by his stage name, Cary Grant, was an English born actor in American films. With his distinctiveMid-Atlantic accent, he was noted as perhaps the foremost exemplar of the debonair leading man, handsome, virile, charismatic and charming.(.....wiki)

This was another hero, who mesmerised me with his dashing performance in Philidelphia Story....he was featured in many a Hitchcock movie and considered the original Bond man....Ian Flemming said he had Cary in mind when he created James Bond....he was a versatile actor..... could do screwball comedy, romantic leads and play the Bond role with equal ease.....he has been an inspiration to many Indian actors.....

Gene Kelly

Kelly was a major exponent of 20th century filmed dance, known for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks and the likeable characters that he played on screen. Although he is probably best known today for his performance in Singing in the rain, he dominated the Hollywood musical film from the mid 1940s until its demise in the late 1950s.(..........wiki)

I became a fan of Gene Kelly when TNT showed Singing in the Rain.........every musical of MGM featured him......he was such a fluid and proficient dancer.... never seen anyone moving so gracefully.... I used to wait and watch every movie of his shown on the little screen..... today thanks to the net.... i get to watch him everyday..... this man is a legend and has inspired many Indian song sequences.....i have posted a few of my favorites here....lets see if you can spot them all.....
